“I had a mixed experience. About a year ago this shop helped me by making lenses the same day and retrofitting them in old frames, and I really appreciated that service! I was suffering from some very serious vision issues due to constant monitor usage. I don't think there is a competitive service to that speed, as I called around the entire Dallas area, including shopping malls. If they are still offering this service, it would definitely be worth it. More recently, I brought in a pair of glasses with a stripped hinge screw from Zenni. I understand their store did not sell me the glasses frames and is not obligated to repair them, especially since Zenni is a big online competitor to in-store shops. However, as a former mechanic, I understand there was likely a potential repair here and my hands aren't small/trained enough to deal with tiny hinge screws. I was told the repair wasn’t feasible and the bottom hole was stripped in about 2-3 minutes max. I was not charged anything, but I would have gladly paid for a salvageable repair. Afterward, I purchased a $6 SnapIt eyeglass repair kit and was able to repair the glasses myself in less than 10 minutes. I was surprised that such a simple repair wasn’t offered or suggested. Based on my experience, if you have a stripped hinge screw, it may be worth trying one of these repair kits before assuming the glasses can’t be fixed. They were helpful to me in the past, but this particular repair experience was disappointing. Vision is serious, and my livelihood depends on it like most people. I hope they can offer a better experience in the future.”
